I remember meeting a really cute blonde southern belle a few decades ago. She was teaching on an Army base in Germany. She had an engaging smile and sparkling personality which she still has. You all know by now, the young lieutenant who wooed and won her hand in marriage was my brother Richie.
Phyllis was and still is a very inventive preparer of meals. However very few know that her specialties early in the marriage were cheese fondue and tongue, spinach and mashed potatoes.I can still remember vividly the latter prepared and served with such style when the newlyweds were living on West 16th street.
Phyllis's talent as a hostess was definitely passed on to Brad and Evan. One evening in Princeton, after Esther and I had enjoyed a lovely dinner we sat around chatting. Brad and Evan were giving a party for their high school friends in the party room downstairs. It was fun watching the comely lasses come in with bags full of soda and pop corn.Unfortunately or fortunately as you may view this the table for the sodas was set up underneath a open vent where we were sitting. When we heard pass the gin and vodka- instantaneously the teacher hopped up and quickly took care of the situation. Non of these school marm techniques had faded.
Phyllis we think your artwork and photography are terrific. We really appreciate the cards. Have wonderful Birthday and I am proud that you are my sister-in-law.
Love
Michael
